Vehicle Requirements & Regulations
Arizona offers a program to register historic vehicles, allowing owners to display special license plates that recognize the vehicle's historical significance. To qualify for historic vehicle status, a vehicle must be at least 25 years old, be listed on the Department of Transportation's Motor Vehicle Historic Vehicle list, and be maintained in its original condition.
Owners must pay a $25 initial application fee and a $10 annual renewal fee. Vehicles can be registered for one, two, or five years, depending on their emissions requirements. Arizona's historic vehicle program helps preserve and protect classic cars, ensuring their legacy for future generations.
